Hello and welcome to the Sleb Safari Celebrity Awards 2021. As always, it was a close race and a game of two halves. There were winners, there were losers, but what counted was participating.

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford before finding out those shipments were Tayto chips, not dog things
In March, Eamonn Holmes blew up his cover. Speaking to Vicky Pattison on her podcast The Secret To … Eamonn cheerfully announced that he had piled boxes of Tayto chips in the garage that Ruth didn’t know about.
“I actually have my chips imported from Northern Ireland,” he told an impressed Vicky.
“Are you doing Taytos?” Asked Vicky.
Eamonn admitted that he actually “made Taytos” and added, “I get specials.”
Ruth, listening at home, said, “Not anymore, Buster, you told me you ordered this for the dog.”

Iain Stirling
Yorkshire Tea won this last year, but the 2021 champion was Iain Stirling, who told the Guardian that he looks for tweets about himself when he’s hit rock bottom.
“I put my name on Twitter when I’m alone, bored, and feeling a little paranoid or lonely. When someone says something bad about me and sees that I’ve seen it, they’ll likely think, ‘Yeah, that is arrogant Stirling. ” look up his own name. ‘ Actually, I was probably just a little sad and punished myself for some reason. “

There had to be three joint winners this year – “You have no authority here, Jackie Weaver” plus “Katie Price is giving away her hair extensions” and “Paul O’Grady wants to come back as a plate-throwing poltergeist”.

Bite Fran Healy? Me?
This was a highly competitive competition, although none of the competitors noticed he was in the race.
The first three were Fran Healy, who was gnawed by a sausage dog; Kate Beckinsale, hospitalized with leggings, and Richard Branson, who suffered a nasty fall while riding a bike.
And the award goes to … Fran Healy, whose story had both stitches and Stevie Nicks. In short, Fran was trying to help a dog that had run away from a traffic accident and the scruffy little dachshund bit his teeth into his hand. Neighbors rang for an ambulance, instead a fire truck turned up and “five Calvin Klein models got out”. And while Fran’s fingers were being sewn, the dog was returned to its owner, who lives in Stevie Nick’s old house. Travis’ next album just wrote itself.

Vin Diesel knows he’s an excellent director
Many were called for this award, but only one was selected. In June, Vin Diesel spoke extensively to Men’s Health about his career in front of – and behind – the camera, and also embraced part of Steven Spielberg’s career.
After shooting a scene for Saving Private Ryan from every angle for two days, Vin Diesel came up with a suggestion.
“Hey Steven, where is your C-camera?”
“What why?”
“Put a C-camera in the window on the second floor.”
Vin does not seek praise, he was happy to help.
“But it was a blessing, and I can say that, because Steven was the person who said – he will say to this day – ‘I didn’t just hire you as an actor, Vin, I expect you to direct . I expect you to direct. ‘”

It’s not what award you know
The sandwich with sausage, egg and bacon on white bread without butter and some ketchup that Brooklyn Beckham made on the Today Show in the USA
In October, Brooklyn Beckham appeared in the US as a guest chef for a live broadcast on breakfast television. “Guest Chef?” Sleb Safari hears you ask, “Isn’t Brooklyn a photographer?”
In a classic case of “famous for being part of a famous family”, Brooklyn was invited to the Today Show to teach America how to make the “English breakfast sandwich” taught by his great-grandmother.
He tossed sausage, bacon and egg between two pieces of unbuttered white bread and everyone went mad. Who says what Brooklyn will do next.

Sleb Safari loves a good sliding moment for celebrities and Kristin Davis delivered.
Kristin auditioned for the role of Monica in Friends and already knew Courteney Cox because they were attending the same yoga class. It was LA in the ’90s, so imagine Sleb Safari leg warmers, cycling shorts, a bum bag and a hair tie.
“Courteney and I were on the same yoga class at the time and we were hanging out,” said Kristin James Corden.
“The rest of us were unemployed actors / waiters and we hung out after class.
“One day Courteney said, ‘Do you want to come and buy a car with me? I’ve done this pilot and I feel really good about it and I think I’ll buy myself a Porsche.
“We thought, ‘Wow, is she real?’ And it was Friends and it went very well. “
Four years later, Kristin got the role of Charlotte in Sex And The City, so this was definitely a yoga class that was producing results.
Jamie Demetriou remembers dad’s childhood

A TIMELY reminder from Stath Lets Flats writer and star Jamie Demetriou that no matter how bad things get, “salvation may be upon us.”
“My father grew up in a village with no money or shoes. He was sent to the UK at the age of 12 without knowing where he was going or speaking English, ”Jamie told The Guardian.
“He lived on the street for a few months until he heard a Greek voice. This Greek family took him to their kitchen and had him washed for his accommodation.
“At 18 he was a real chef in posh restaurants in central London. I am very proud of him for that. It taught me an important lesson. “
