Chennai: Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi on Wednesday released a list of eleven valid documents, which voters can submit as proof at polling booths this Saturday.
The state election commission had announced that urban local body elections for all 200 wards within GCC limits will be held in a single phase on Saturday.
Those with or without booth slips, distributed by the SEC, can present any of the 11 valid documents for casting their vote, said an official release from GCC.
This includes Aadhar card, MGNREGA identify card, bank or postal account passbook with photo, health insurance smart card (issued by the government labor welfare department), driving licence, PAN card, smart card issued under the National Population Register, passport, retirement benefit Cards, identity cards issued by government agencies or public sector undertakings.
