Gogglebox fans reporting slam show for Prince Philip

Gogglebox fans have accused show bosses of “offending” their intelligence over reporting the death of Prince Philip.

The Duke Of Edinburgh’s death was recorded within minutes of the Friday night C4 program.

Jenny Newby and Lee Riley gasped in shock when they saw the BBC news bulletin.

But viewers have accused the producers of getting the stars to show their reaction to the cameras.

A fan said on Twitter: “Please don’t offend our intelligence and find out that everyone on Gogglebox was watching the BBC when the news came of Prince Philip. “

Another added: “How can they be filmed when responding to the news from Prince Philip when they certainly didn’t sit there last Friday to film and watch the news?

“Basically, they had to act out how they reacted when they first heard it. Bit weird.#Gogglebox. “

‘Disappointed’

The popular show also came under fire from some viewers for being too prejudiced against the royal family.

Others mocked Giles and Mary for wearing black outfits for the rest of the episode.

That night, C4 came under fire for broadcasting Gogglebox while the BBC and ITV decided to delete their schedules.

Instead, the stations showed extensive special programs and news reports in honor of the 99-year-old king.

C4 was accused of being “insensitive”, but the C4 bosses defended their decision.

Louisa Compton, Channel 4’s news, current affairs and sports director, said in a statement: “Today we aired a 30-minute special on Channel 4 shortly after the Duke of Edinburgh was announced. a detailed obituary at 4 pm and at 7 am there will be an extended @ Channel4News.

“C4 also has a duty to offer an alternative to other channels – hence a return to the schedule.”
